Win 10 recognized my controller without a driver, and I was able to use it in other games, so I decided the problem is probably that is it old and uses DirectInput, not XInput. This is because it is already a USB gamepad (which lots of people already owned) AND it has native Windows support via the XInput API. The gamepad that destroyed mine (and lots of other good 3rd party controllers) in the market was the Xbox 360 controller. The shoulder buttons were also fucked, and since you need them for core gameplay, I had to figure out how to fix the problem. For some reason the left-right directions weren’t affected. However, when I tried this with Life is Strange, a bunch of the buttons were reversed… down was up (and vice versa), X Y, A B. I used it with a few other Steam games (mostly platformers) without any particular problems by simply plugging it in. It’s basically a PS2 controller… it has the rumble feature, 2 sticks, d-pad, same button layout. I bought this USB gamepad several years ago when it was one of the most popular 3rd-party controllers. To that end, today I will document my recent struggles with getting my old Logitech Rumblepad 2 USB gamepad working with the Steam game “ Life is Strange“. I need to do my best to keep up on this blog because it’s important to document things I learned, or I will forget them. Haven’t accomplished much recently in my life and what I have accomplished, I didn’t find time to write down, so most of it will be lost to the ether. Even today i've tested, downloaded older FIFA and its working fine.Sigh.
Need for speed or previous FIFA's i've played, never had an issue with it. Wierd thing is, it is working PERFECTLY in every other game. (or something like this, its really random) Sometimes i click "down" once and it would go down 1x, 1x up and 2x down again. in all settings it shows up as "2" like it should be.Īlso problem that sometimes in the menu it "lives its own life" as it just scrolls through things without me actually touching the game pad. (also spoke to Logitech support, but it was kinda useless, they just stress that i need to upgrade my driver)īuttons are mixed up, forexample "2" (to accept things, or to do a short pass in-game) is working on the left stick if i flick it upwards. Im using win 10, all updated, game repair tried, contacted EA support several times, Logitech driver updated, nothing will help so far. I've got a problem with my controller on PC version.
