Instead of attempting to repeat the more well-known names you probably already know, what follows is IRD’s list of Evangelicals and Mainline Protestant movers and shakers who fly under the mainstream radar. While we here at the Institute on Religion and Democracy (IRD) did scratch our heads at the sight of a United Church of Christ author and Catholic philosopher on the list, we thought the concept a grand idea and decided to compile our own list of influential religious leaders. Give our friends at Newsmax credit for compiling a rousing list of the 100 most prominent Evangelical Americans influencing culture today.
